The Australian wine industry is the world's fourth largest exporter of wine with approximately 750 million litres a year being sold Worldwide. It is no wonder Australian wines are so popular, they produce every type of wine, but predominantly Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Australian wine producers tend to label their wines with the grape variety.

Australia's wine regions are mainly in the southern parts of the country, with vineyards located in South Australia, South East Australia and Hunter Valley.
