About Mendoza Wine

Mendoza is the best-known and most productive wine region in Argentina, with the region containing around two-thirds of the country's vineyards. It is located in the west of the country, close to the Andean Mountains, and its terrain includes several rivers. The region has a continental climate, with the high altitude resulting in an absence of extreme temperatures in any of the four seasons, providing excellent conditions for growing wine grapes.

Among the grapes grown in Mendoza are Tempranillo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Syrah. However, the signature wine grape for the area is Malbec. Much of the Malbec wines made in the region originate from the Lujan de Cuyo sub-region and have a velvety quality, as well as a deep colour.
