About Burgundy Wine
Burgundy is a wine region that is located in eastern France, close to the city of Dijon. It's a region that has a long history of winemaking with a strong influence from monks of the Roman Catholic Church.
Wine from the Burgundy region are often known as Burgundies, with white wines being made from the Chardonnay grape variety and the dry red wines from Pinot Noir. Burgundy's cool and moderate climate provide almost perfect conditions for producing these grapes.
