Beaujolais is a French wine producing region in the southernmost area of Burgundy. The region produces light-bodied juicey, fruity red wines and the area is almost exclusively planted with Gamay grape.
Beaujolais produces more than twice as much as the entire Burgundy region with over 70 million being produced each year.
