About Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon blanc is an extremely popular variety of white wine grape making crisp, dry, aromatic and extremely distinctive wines all over the world.

Originating from the Loire Valley in France, Sauvignon Blanc showcases its aromatic character and refreshing acidity in the form of pure, zesty wines. Bordeaux is also known for top quality sauvignon blanc in France, where it is frequently blended with semillon to create revered sweet wines such as Sauternes and Barsac, along with good dry, fresh, white wines.

In the new world, Sauvignon Blanc wines have found a second home in New Zealand, particularly Marlborough, and are a big part in putting New Zealand on the winemaking map in the 1980's. It is also found in the cooler regions of Australia, South Africa and Chile.

If you love a good Sauvignon Blanc we have a selection to please. Take a pick from an old world favourite, or one of the leading big name Kiwi Sauvignons - we have many to choose from at guilt free prices. Plus our temperature controlled tasting room allows you the opportunity to taste something new before you buy, so why not give a lesser known Sauvignon Blanc a go on your next visit.
