  • This wonderful fruity elegant wine stays true to the appellation. A textbook Margaux, deep and delicious.
  • Château Grand Tayac stands in the commune of Soussans in the northern part of the Margaux appellation, where the Garonne gravel is not quite as deep, yet the pronounced buttes enable a developed waterways network through numerous small streams such as La Louise in Tayac and Soussans. Though these reduce the available vineyard area, they also isolate excellent terroirs such as Marsac and Tayac.
  • The vineyard produces just 3000 cases and the wine is elaborated by Eric Boissenot, who made his name as a consultant to 4 of the 5 legendary First Growth properties. His philosophy is very straightforward: 1) Not over exaggerating ripeness, extraction or tannins 2) Not micro oxygenating wines as this is simply taking tannins away from over extracted wines 3) Close surveillance of the properties they work with – they tend to work with only left bank wines in order to spend more time at the properties. Their work in the vineyards is real – not just a signature on a bottle. 4) Letting the wines speak for themselves
