The Cooler way to enjoy Wine or Champagne
The sun is out and we're celebrating the only way we know how - with a wine or champagne related summer treat!
If you need some inspiration for a boozy spectacle for a bbq, or just want an adult only indulgent summer treat - then why not try one of these 2 amazing alcoholic ice lolly recipes.
Plus, unless you tell them, no-one will know you are indulging at all!!
1. Strawberry Red Wine Lollies
450 grams strawberries, quartered
1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
240 ml red wine (we recommend a fruity style such as the Beaujolais Villages Les Charmentes at a stunning £3.99 a bottle at The Calais Wine Superstore)
Preheat oven to 190 degrees C.
Mix all ingredients except the wine and spread over a baking tray. Cook for 20-25 minutes when the berry juices have thickened.
Once they have cooled, give half of the mixture a good whizz in a food processor, then stir in the red wine.
Spoon the remaining half of the roasted strawberries into ice lolly moulds then pour red wine mixture in to the top. Freeze and serve!
2. French 75 Ice Lollies
You will love these, they are so simple (and have lots of alcohol)!
12 oz. of champagne (try the Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut on offer at the moment for £13.99)
4 oz. of gin
4 oz. of simple syrup
3 oz. of fresh lemon juice
Mix, pour into ice lolly moulds, freeze then enjoy!
