- Peter - Visited May 2019.
I recently visited Calais Wine ( again ) and thought I would but some Malbec. I like Malbec and especially Argentinian but I also like Australian wines so n Argentinian Malbec made by an Australian wine maker should have been a good bet. Sadly it wasn't. I opened one bottle 2 weeks ago and it was thin, acidic and not a nice nose. I have drunk Malbec from many areas but none have tasted anything like this, thankfully. It has no body and then other 5 bottles are going to be recycled via the drainage system. This is the first wine I have actually thrown away from all of my Calais Wine purchases, so not a normal occurrence , however it isn't really something I like to do irrespective of the source. Wine is to be drunk but only if it is drinkable, for me this is not one of them.
Malbec - But not as we know it.
