- Mr Pinc
I'll never claim to have an educated palate so don't know how much use my review will be. I couldn't find anything I fancied in the supermarket so two fellow shoppers raving about 19 crimes induced me to give it a try. I only drink white as a rule, the dryer the better. I particularly favour a soave reserve but none was available...so.....19 crimes white was on offer at £6 down from £8 and my aforementioned uneducated palate us usually more than happy with a choice between £5.50 and £8 (roughly). After an exhausting day I settled down with a glass only to find 8t barely drinkable. My immediate thought was it smelled and tasted sweet and musty...not for me at all. However I'm not in a position to waste even a "cheap" wine so I persevered. It didn't get any better. Only when I tried it with some raisin and rum flavoured dark chocolate did it become "ok". One glass was enough and although I'll finish it one way or another I certainly shan't be buying more. If you like a sweeter wine you may enjoy this. The two customers who recommended bit can't be alone!
Not nice but what do I know?
This is my favourite chardonnay. Tastes buttery and smooth and I highly recommend it!
Terrible wine no taste of fruit, pungent smell and taste. And very waxy feel over the tongue absolutely would recommend to avoid. I know taste can be subjective but would we question the palate of anyone who would recommend this.
Smooth, vanilla , well oaked, delicious.
Absolutely gorgeous buttery Chardonnay. Best Chardonnay I’ve had in years,
Ignore the review from ak25, total rubbish. This is an excellent wine we get this in the U.K. all the time. Fruity, oaky, vanilla and a touch of acidity at the end of the mouth. The best Chardonnay I have had for years.
This is a real treat and I would suggest you try this if you get a chance I love this wine.
Excellent wine with a lot going on
horrid, horrid wine. I was suckered into it by the great reviews - I wonder who actually wrote those and what they were actually drinking. There is nothing subtle about this wine, there is no pleasant fruity taste. There is an overwhelming taste of cloves which is presumably the fake 'smoket' taste they are trying to achieve - best avoided
cheap, nasty and about as subtle as a brick
Not usually a white wine drinker. Tried this beauty in the tasting room and had to buy a case. Looking forwards to a cold glass on a hot summer day
19 Crimes Chardonnay
19 Crimes was a new one to me so I tried the Chardonnay and I found it to be one of the nicest Chardonnays I’ve ever tasted. Please keep it on the stock list Calais wines great value for the money!!!
