Agoston Tempranillo Cabernet

This is one of the wine styles that Spain does so well: a rounded, juicy red wine, bursting with fruit, ready for drinking, and just a little rustic. One of the great value red wines of the year!! Tasting notes

A classic alternative to Rioja, oak-aged for at least two months to give lightly spiced berry and vanilla flavours. Tempranillo and Cabernet- a classic favourite for the intense bouquet of jammy blackberries, black plums and chocolate and peppered with spice.

Production notes

Following destalking and crushing, the must ferments in contact with the skins for 10 days in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperatures. During the pump-over, there is the extraction of additional tannins and colour. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French and American oak barrels. After two months in oak the wine is stabilized and filtered before bottling

Food choice

A brilliant partner to roast lamb.

Lovely

Dave McKinnon

I must admit, I bought this wine because of the label. It didn't disappoint though - as the other reviewer says, it is very complex for a wine that is so well-priced.

Spicy

Mike Brett

It is so rare to get this amount of complexity for a wine at this price. Fantastic value as well. Try this and the other Agoston too.
